MINER is usually not used to run a single test or to make a simple performance measurement because some initial effort is needed, like: MINER installation and configuration, integration of tools, preparation of scenarios, etc.

For a qualified decision on whether to use MINER or not, several aspects that have to be taken into account:

• the number of distributed nodes
• the number of tools required for the experiment
• the number of different experiments that need to be investigated
• how many times the set of experiments has to be executed
• the importance of being able to run the set of experiment with virtually zero human effort
• the importance of maintaining a fully documented workflow

If at least of these dimensions demands for a high number/importance, the usage of MINER will pay off.
